FALL CAMP REPORT: Defense Strong In First Team Scrimmage

NORMAL, Ill. – It was a beautiful morning for football at Hancock Stadium on Saturday, as the Redbird football team held its first team scrimmage of Fall Camp.

Scrimmage Notes:
• The scrimmage lasted nearly two hours and the offense ran a total of 102 plays against the defense.
• Various scenarios were covered during the intrasquad scrimmage, including live punts, driving the field, and red-zone work.
• The defense combined for 10 sacks, 23 tackles-for-loss, four pass breakups, and interception and a fumble recovery.

Scoring Summary:
• The first score of the day came when Charles Woods stepped in front of a Brady Davis pass at the goal line and returned it 99 yards for a touchdown for the defense.
