NORMAL, Ill. – For the first time since December 14, 2019, the Illinois State football team took the field wearing full pads Saturday morning. The team had its third of 15 permitted fall practices that will help prepare the Redbirds for the Spring 2021 scheduled to begin at Northern Iowa on February 20.
Although contact was limited and players made a concerted effort to stay on their feet, the high-energy practice on the turf at Hancock Stadium resembled football in its traditional form.
