FALL CAMP REPORT 6: Grind Continues As Season Approches

NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State football was back in action this morning at Hancock Stadium for practice No. 9, marking the team's third practice in full pads.

Today's practice followed two consecutive off-days given to players to recharge and prepare for the first day of classes, which was Monday. The usual stretching and warm-ups were followed by a special teams circuit and individual drills. The rest of practice featured two 7-on-7 sessions, perimeter work, blitz drills, and a team session at the end that focused on scoring in the red zone.

Practice Highlights:
• On the first and second team side, the first 7-on-7 session was highlighted by the defense as they held both quarterbacks to only a fifty-percent completion rate … it all started with an interception by Clayton Isbell, who went on to have two interceptions overall in the first session … Braden Price, Shannon Reid and Jeff Bowens were all credited with pass breakups as well.
