Evansville Squeaks Out 74-73 Win

EVANSVILLE, IN – Bradley freshman Caroline Waite drained six 3-pointers on the way to a team-high 18 points, but host Evansville (7-6, 1-1 MVC) scored five straight points as the clock dipped under 1-minute to play to pull out a 74-73 win against the visiting Braves (3-8, 0-2 MVC) Friday night at the cozy Meeks Family Fieldhouse.

Although game statistics currently are unavailable, Bradley's cold shooting from the free throw line and inability to secure a late defensive rebound opened the door for Evansville's final push.

Not only was Bradley playing its first game since the end of the 2016-17 season without the program's all-time scoring leader and 3-point shooter, fifth-year senior guard Gabi Haack, the Braves also were without one of its top newcomers, junior forward Sierra Morrow, due to COVID protocols.
