ST. LOUIS. – Illinois State junior guard Keyshawn Evans, following an all-tournament team honor at the Puerto Rico Tip-Off at Myrtle Beach, has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week.
Evans averaged 22.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game for ISU in a week in which it went 2-1 with wins over South Carolina and Tulsa. Made 21-of-36 of his shots from the field, and 12-of-18 from long range. He came into the season with a career-high of 16 points and has bettered that in all four of the team's games this season, including three games of 20 or more.
