Illinois State senior Keyshawn Evans will have his parents walk out with him during Senior Day ceremonies at 12:40 p.m. Sunday at Redbird Arena before ISU entertains Drake in a Missouri Valley Conference basketball game at 1.
Also joining the Evans trio will be the Johnsons of Normal. They took their then 7-year-son Wesley to an Easterseals function with the ISU basketball team before Evans' freshman season in 2015.
Soon thereafter, Evans began joining the Johnson family every Sunday, attending services with them at Eastview Christian Church and watching games in their home — along with finding the family couch.
