CONWAY, S.C. – A career-high 29 points from junior Keyshawn Evans helped the Illinois State Redbirds to an 84-68 win over the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, and to a third-place finish in the 2017 Puerto Rico Tip-Off at Myrtle Beach.
How It Happened
Tulsa came out quickly and scored the game's first five points; however, Illinois State responded with a big run. A William Tinsley three-pointer started the run, and closed with a made three-pointer by Evans. Including the two aforementioned long-range shots, Illinois State ran off 20 consecutive points to push ahead to a 20-5 lead.
