ST LOUIS — Drake coach Niko Medved said earlier this week he expected injured Bradley point guard Darrell Brown to play against the Bulldogs on Friday at the Missouri Valley Conference tournament.
He was right.
“I knew all along he was going to play,” Medved said. “I wasn’t paying any attention to all the stories. That’s how we’ve prepared all week.”
Although Brown hasn’t practiced or even put weight on his sprained right ankle from the time he hurt it Saturday against Indiana State until Thursday, there he was during the Braves’ 30-minute workout at Scottrade Center running and jumping like a frisky colt.
