The No. 12-ranked Illinois Wesleyan softball team rebounded from losing the opener of Thursday's College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin doubleheader, 4-3, to North Central by clinching its third straight regular-season championship with a 9-5 win in the nightcap.
The Titans are 27-7 overall and 11-3 in the CCIW and will host the CCIW Tournament on May 5-6.
North Central scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to take the first game. Jill Runyon and Danielle Smith had two hits for Wesleyan.
The Titans led 6-0 after two innings while rolling to the second game triumph.
