A day after upsetting No. 14 Illinois, the red-hot Illinois State volleyball team outlasted Central Florida, 20-25, 25-21, 15-25, 26-24, 15-10, on day two of the Redbird Classic at Redbird Arena on Saturday.
The Redbirds' fifth consecutive win — in front of a crowd of 1,150 — improved them to 7-1 ahead of Sunday's 3 p.m. tournament finale against No. 7 Marquette (6-1), which faced Illinois in a late night match on Saturday. The Fighting Illini fell in Saturday's first match against Central Florida, 3-1.
