Junior Dave Perkins tied the collegiate tournament course record with a 7-under par 65 Monday, helping Illinois State remain in first place in the 12-team Badger Invitational at the University Ridge Golf Course in Madison, Wis.
ISU has a 4-under-par total of 572 (287-285) heading into Tuesday's final round. Kansas is two strokes back at 574 (292-282).
Perkins moved into a tie for third place with his sparkling round, which included seven birdies and a back nine of 30. He has a 139 total (74-65).
ISU senior Trent Wallace had a second straight 1-under 71 for a 142 total.
