A header by Angel Krell with 11:24 left lifted the Illinois State soccer team into a 2-2 season-opening overtime tie with visiting Cal State Northridge on Thursday.
Kiley Czerwinski's corner kick preceded a double assist by Natalie Vaughn-Low and Abby Basler to set up Krell.
The Redbirds pulled within 2-1 when Logan Ziegler scored off a double assist from Ashley Santos and Kate Del Fava with 23:13 left.
The visitors, who were outshot 18-10 in regulation, received goals from Bethany Fitzsimmons in the first half and Michaela Giordano in the second. Kimberly Anderson provided an assist on the first goal.
