The Pittsburgh native previously served as a postgraduate intern in Academic and Membership Affairs for the NCAA.
At the NCAA, Johnston processed student-athlete academic waivers and presented appeals to waiver committees in Division I and II. He also assisted membership with interpretive responses to time-sensitive legislative questions and concerns they submitted.
Johnston also worked at Eastern Michigan, where he earned his master’s degree in sport management, and Duquense after earning his bachelor’s degree in sport, arts and entertainment management from Point Park University in Pittsburgh.
