NORMAL — Illinois State was named the Missouri Valley Conference Program of the Year based on the Redbirds' performance in cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field, it was announced Thursday.
The Redbirds took home the Program of the Year honors for the second-consecutive year.
Scoring is based on the team’s finish at each MVC Championship in cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field (i.e. 1st = 1 point, 2nd = 2 points … 10th = 10 points) with the lowest total score for all six championships (3 men’s and 3 women’s) combined determining the award winner.
