Illinois State sophomore right-hander Brett Wicklund has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
Wicklund pitched a three-hit shutout in a 3-0 victory over Eastern Illinois. He struck out three and walked none while throwing 92 pitches. It was ISU's first nine-inning complete game shutout since Jacob Hendren did it in May 2015.
Wicklund is 3-1 with a 2.25 ERA in 32 innings. He has walked two and struck out 16 with opponents hitting .238.
