Illinois State freshman Emme Olson has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week for softball, the league office announced on Monday.
The Olympia High School graduate batted .667 for the week with a 1.167 slugging percentage and .733 on-base percentage. In ISU’s doubleheader split at Bradley, Olson went 3-for-6 with two doubles and a triple. In a Sunday twin bill against Loyola, she had two doubles, three RBIs and two walks.
