NORMAL — Sophomore David Perkins fired a two-under 69 in Sunday's final round to lead the Illinois State men's golf team to a third-place finish in the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate at Weibring Golf Club.
Perkins' round included four birdies, helping him to climb into a fourth-place tie on the individual leaderboard with a three-day total of 5-over par 218.
Adam Wood of tourney champion Duke, his Blue Devil teammate Chandler Eaton, and Griffin Barela of Wisconsin tied for individual honors at 217. Perkins tied Duke's Qiwen Wong for fourth.
ISU's Zach Burry finished with a 4-over 75 to end the tournament a 222, good for sole possession of 14th place.
