The No. 15-nationally ranked Illinois Wesleyan softball team upset No. 6 Washington (Mo.) by scores of 5-1 and 4-0 in a doubleheader at St. Louis on Tuesday. IWU improved to 9-3.
In the first game, Wesleyan's Mary Rankin had a three-run home run in the fifth inning while teammate Julie Joston provided a two-run homer in the fourth. Winning pitcher Jenna Noland (4-1) tossed a five-hitter and gave up no earned runs.
