Home runs by Emme Olson, Alyssa Wiebel and Ellie Weltha powered the Illinois State softball team to an 11-0, six-inning victory at Evansville, Ind., on Saturday. In the second game of the doubleheader, the Redbirds won, 8-1.
In the first game, Wiebel also had a double among her three hits. As a pinch hitter, Weltha drove in two runs as did Mack Leonard and Allison Spence. Olson had two of ISU's 12 hits.
Winning pitcher Morgan Day (3-9) fanned seven while tossing a five-inning one-hitter.
In the nightcap, Wiebel had three hits including a home run to drive in two runs.
