NORMAL — A weekend sweep has eluded the Illinois State baseball team no longer.
After winning two of three in its first three Missouri Valley Conference series, the Redbirds completed a weekend whitewash of Evansville on Sunday at Duffy Bass Field with a 14-4 victory in a game broadcast nationally on ESPNU.
"We just want to win every game, but getting sweeps is what puts you apart from the rest of the league," ISU first baseman Judah Morris said. "Every weekend you try to get a sweep. This weekend we were fortunate enough to win all three games playing each day by itself.
