NORMAL — Watching fellow Iowan Mary Crompton set 3-point shooting records at Illinois State, Caroline Waite could picture herself in Crompton’s shoes and taking Crompton’s shots.
After Crompton graduated, White transferred from Bradley to Illinois State and is filling a similar role for the Redbirds.
“That was one of the big reasons I came here was their style of play and how they coach, especially a shooter,” Waite said. “That’s one of my strong suits. I was seeing how they coached Mary specifically and how they run their program.”
Waite is averaging 11.0 points and has hit 4 of 11 from 3-point range entering ISU’s 11 a.
