NORMAL – When informed he had broken his left thumb in an Oct. 21 game at Youngstown State, Illinois State tight end Cam Grandy was fearful both his season and his college career were over.
“It definitely hurt a little bit,” Grandy said. “But the coaches and training staff did a good job keeping me with high morale. They were able to put a cast on it and I was still able to go.”
ISU coach Brock Spack immediately told Grandy not to fret.
