PEORIA, Ill. -- Sophomore pitcher Brooks Gosswein (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after making two appearances on the mound during a 5-0 week for Bradley Baseball.
Gosswein totaled 8.1 innings of hitless and scoreless work in his two outings. In Wednesday's 9-6 win against SIU Edwardsville, he came out of the bullpen to retire all four batters he faced, allowing the Braves to rally from an early 5-0 deficit. Gosswein made his regular start Saturday against Robert Morris-Springfield and tossed the first 7.0 innings of Bradley's 8-inning no-hitter.
