The Bradley Braves began their first homestand this season over the weekend and were swept by the Southern Illinois Salukis, dropping all three contests to the Missouri Valley Conference's number one team. The Braves totaled 19 runs on 23 hits over the weekend, including an 11-run effort in Friday's game.

The Braves scored an early two runs in the first but were silent for the next three innings. Southern Illinois held a 13-2 lead heading into the bottom of the fifth, when Bradley started to fight back, rallying for five runs in the fifth and scoring a combined four runs in the sixth and seventh to trail the Salukis 14-11.
