PHOENIX, Ariz. -- Sophomore Jordy van der Werf hit her first career home run with a three-run blast in the second, but Weber State rallied for five runs to edge the Braves 5-3 Friday morning in the season opener for both teams at the Grand Canyon Kickoff Classic.
Playing in her home state for the first time in her collegiate career, van der Werf delivered a three-run dinger in the top of the second to give Bradley (0-1 overall) a 3-0 lead.
