Bircher was named the AAIPB Pitcher of the Week July 26 after allowing just two runs on five hits with 17 strikeouts in 13 innings spanning two starts during the previous week. In his only appearances since being named Pitcher of the Week, Bircher turned in seven shutout innings in a no decision last Friday.
