Bradley athletes stage peaceful protest against inequality and social injustice

Journal Star

PEORIA — Dozens of Bradley student-athletes returned to campus Monday for an unprecedented regimen of voluntary workouts done while socially distancing from their teammates and fellow athletes.

On Tuesday night, they participated in quite another different voluntary activity no less unprecedented for their generation.

With the full support of the university and the athletic department, about a 100 BU athletes, coaches, administrators and their families gathered for a peaceful protest supporting the African-American community during this period of racial unrest nationally.

Starting at Renaissance Coliseum at 6 p.m., the group marched together for the approximate 2 miles to the Civic Center.
