The Illinois State soccer team (13-5, 6-1 MVC) defeated Drake (7-9-1, 4-3-0 MVC) on Friday afternoon, 1-0, at the TBK Bank Sports Complex in Bettendorf, Iowa. Senior Kate Del Fava scored ISU's lone goal in the shutout while senior goalkeeper Haley Smith collected two saves on her way to her ninth shutout of the season.
The 'Birds secured the No. 2 seed in the Missouri Valley Conference Soccer Championships and will play the winner of the No.3/No.6 match on Friday, Nov. 8 at 3:30 p.m. CT in Springfield, Missouri.
