ST. LOUIS – Senior Grace Beattie's impressive performance in the mile at the 2020 Adidas Classic over the weekend earned her the honor of Missouri Valley Conference Female Track Athlete of the Week, her first MVC weekly award of the 2019-20 season.
Beattie, who has won every race she's finished this indoor season, won the mile for the second time this year at the Adidas Classic hosted by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her time of 4:52.32 is a five second improvement from her previous season-best and remains the best time in the Valley.
A native of Woodstock, Illinois, Beattie has led the conference in the mile since the first meet of the season and currently the next closest student-athlete is five seconds behind her time.
