PEORIA, IL – The Bradley baseball team clinched a top-four seed and a bye to the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament double-elimination round with a 4-3 victory against Illinois State on Friday. The Braves are now 19-20 on the season and 11-10 in conference play, while the Redbirds are 22-31 and 12-14 versus league foes.
Senior Brendan Dougherty and junior Keaton Rice combined to go 4-for-7 on the day with one walk and three RBI to lead the Braves to victory. With his two hits, Dougherty extended his on-base streak to 35 games – matching the longest streak by a BU student-athlete since the 2000 season.
