ST. LOUIS – Illinois State sophomore guard Avalon Woodward has been named the MVC Golfer of the Week for her performance at the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational.
Woodward finished in a tie for third place in the field and was the top finisher by an MVC golfer in the tournament. Woodward carded rounds of 71, 72, and 74 en route to her three-day 217.
Her 217 is the fifth-lowest single-tournament score in program history.
The Redbirds are back in action on Monday, March 7 when the team travels to McAllen, Texas to compete in the UTRGV Women's Invitational.
