PEORIA, Ill. – Sophomore runner Ashley Maguire (LaSalle, Ontario/Saint Thomas of Villanova) has been named this week's Bradley Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after helping the Bradley Women's Cross Country to a third-place finish at last week's Bradley Pink Classic.
Maguire helped the Braves to a third-place team finish in the 37-team field and Bradley was first among the nine Missouri Valley Conference teams competing as she placed 11th overall with a career-best 6K time of 2:16.5. Her time ranks as the sixth-best performance by a Brave at the Pink Classic.
