ST. LOUIS – Illinois State senior Laura Arciniegas was honored as the 2021 Missouri Valley Conference Women's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year on Tuesday, when the league announced its 2021 Scholar-Athlete Teams. She was joined on the squad by teammate Jelena Karla Vujicic, who earned a spot on the 2021 Scholar-Athlete Honorable Mention Team.
Sixteen student-athletes were named to the 2021 MVC Scholar-Athlete Teams, with eight of those student-athletes named to the First Team. This year's first team includes four players that have received previous MVC women's tennis scholar-athlete first-team recognition, including Arciniegas.
