ST. LOUIS — Illinois State quarterback Zack Annexstad put together his best performance in a Redbird uniform against Indiana State on Saturday and for his efforts, the transfer from Minnesota was named the Missouri Valley Football Conference Newcomer of the Week Sunday by the league office.
The MVFC Newcomer of the Week award is the second for Annexstad this season, after he previously earned the honor following his excellent performance in a win over Eastern Illinois on September 17.
Annexstad completed 24-of-38 pass attempts for a career-best 274 yards and accounted for four touchdowns in the Redbirds' 27-21 victory over the Sycamores.
