PEORIA, Ill. – Graduate student Alec Danner (Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove North) has been named this week's Bradley Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after winning the individual title at last week's Bradley Intercollegiate, while helping Bradley Men's Cross Country to the team title.
Danner claimed his first collegiate cross country individual title, posting the fastest 8K time in school history at 23:49.2 as he topped the previous mark of 23:58.3 by teammate George Watson set last year at Florida State. In addition, Danner broke the Bradley Intercollegiate record of 24:13 set by Elkanah Kibet in 2006.
