NORMAL, Ill. -- Tre Roberson scored his second rushing touchdown to kick off the fourth quarter as No. 2 seed Illinois State used three late scores to sweep past Western Illinois 36-19 in the second round of the FCS playoffs on Saturday.
Illinois State (10-2) advances to meet Richmond (9-3) in the quarterfinals Dec. 12.
The Red Birds led 7-6 at halftime, fell behind 12-7 in the third quarter but outscored Western Illinois (7-6) 21-7 in the fourth.
Roberson, who passed for two TDs, scored on a 5-yard run in the final minute of the third quarter and opened the fourth with a 32-yard rushing TD.
