14 Redbirds Earn Easton/NFCA Scholar-Athlete Award

NORMAL, Ill. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced on Tuesday that 14 Illinois State softball players have earned the Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete award for their academic achievement during the 2020-21 school year.

This prestigious award requires student-athletes to earn a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average during the 2020-21 school year in order to qualify for All-America status. Six student-athletes earned perfect 4.0 GPAs, including Kaili Chval, Madi Bylak, Michele Calabrese, Rebecca Moffett, Reili Gardner and Mack Leonard.

As a team, Illinois State tied with Harvard University and Hofstra University for the 19th-best team cumulative GPA among NCAA Division I programs.
