CHAMPAIGN — Chatrice White sat down with her parents during a spring break trip home to Shelby, Neb., and outlined a plan she had devised for her final two years of eligibility.
White’s intent was to finish her degree from Illinois in three years and play her fourth season elsewhere as a graduate transfer. But that plan evolved. White has instead received her release from Illinois and will transfer immediately.
“We discussed it and I said, ‘Gosh, if you want out, you don’t have to wait,’” White’s father, Bob, told The News-Gazette late Friday morning. “She absolutely loves the school, loves the fans, loves her teammates — just loves everything about it.
