DAVE LOANE can't be two places at once. That's where SCOTT BEATTY comes in.
With longtime WDWS announcer Loane scheduled to call Illinois volleyball matches in Michigan this weekend, he isn't available for the start of the Illinois women's basketball season.
Fellow DWS announcer Beatty will take Loane's place, starting with today's 1 p.m. game against Fort Wayne at State Farm Center. Beatty will call eight home games while Loane finishes the season with volleyball.
MIKE KOON will serve as Beatty's analyst for home games and will handle play-by-play on the road until Loane returns.
