THAD MATTA, the pride of Hoopeston, is joining select company at Ohio State.

The Buckeyes basketball coach from 2005-17, Matta is one of 10 in the school's 2019 Hall of Fame class.

Matta won 337 games at Ohio State, the most in program history. He led the team to the Final Four in 2007 and 2012. His teams won 30 games three times and took four Big Ten tournament titles and five regular-season championships. Ohio State qualified for the NCAA tournament nine times during Matta's tenure.

Matta recruited a string of stars to Columbus, including national player of the year EVAN TURNER.
