Saturday is a special anniversary for St. Louis Cardinals fans, especially those who cheered on STAN MUSIAL.
Fifty years ago, the team celebrated its star by unveiling a large statue outside Busch Stadium.
"No one really knew what it was going to look like," said Champaign resident and longtime Cardinals fan RUSS LAKE. "A lot of people thought it was going to be him leaning over signing an autograph for a boy. It was kind of a surprise even to Musial when it got unveiled."
