Looking back at 2017: Allegretti added a dozen more starts — eight at guard and four at center — to his career total last fall, which pushed his streak to 24 straight games. He was the rock of the Illinois offensive line, playing the bulk of the season with three true freshmen and a redshirt freshman. Allegretti led Illinois in offensive snaps (playing in 99 percent), and he ended the season as an All-Big Ten honorable mention selection while also appearing on the Rimington Award and Wuerffel Trophy watch lists.
