Top 50 Illini Football Players of 2016: No. 34, Tito Odenigbo

No. 34: Tito Odenigbo, DT

Why he’s important: Big Ten teams are always trying to find that next great run-stuffer in the middle who can also disrupt a quarterback’s rhythm. Not saying Odenigbo will do that consistently in 2016, but the redshirt sophomore should certainly get some opportunities. He saw his first playing time with the Illini last season, registering three tackles in six games after he redshirted in 2014. The first commit in the 2014 class is a backup at the moment behind Rob Bain and Chunky Clements inside, but he could find himself in the mix, along with Jamal Milan and possibly Gimel President, depending on how Lovie Smith and his staff use President, a fifth-year transfer from Auburn.
