1. "Rudy"
Yes, it is sappy. Isn't that the point? Sean Astin is believable as the title character and Ned Beatty is perfect in his portrayal of Rudy's dad. Charles Dutton makes every movie better.
2. "The Waterboy"
Not a big hit with the critics, but who cares? Put Adam Sandler, Kathy Bates and Henry Winkler in any film and you have a hit.
