WRONG ROUTE AWARD: Cam Newton
The Carolina quarterback caught some heat this week for responding to a reporter, who happens to be a woman, asking him about a teammate's route-running. "It's funny to hear a female talking about routes," Newton said. There was a slight hitch in Newton's delivery. But once this controversy fades away and is no longer worthy of a blog post, the quarterback will come out of his corner and learn that comments like this simply won't fly. (Those are all routes, by the way.)
EXECUTION AWARD: Jay Cutler
Cutler took some heat last week after he lined up at wide receiver on one play and stood at the line of scrimmage with his hands on his hip the entire time.
