When Tom Michael left Illinois last summer to become the athletic director at Eastern Illinois, Mike Thomas enlisted the help of Warren Hood, a veteran at handling building improvement projects. Hood, Illinois’ senior associate director of athletics for capital projects, oversaw the renovation at Memorial Stadium from 2004 to ’08 and is now the go-to guy for all things State Farm Center. He chatted with Marcus Jackson about the project and more:
