University of Illinois police believe they found the man who damaged the UI golf course last month.
On Wednesday, Collin J. McLaughlin, a 33-year-old Savoy man, was issued a notice to appear for criminal damage to state-supported property.
Police say McLaughlin allegedly caused about $1,000 worth of damage to the No. 9 hole on the Blue Course by driving his truck on the green. The University of Illinois golf course is located at 800 Hartwell Drive in Savoy.
Police said they discovered McLaughlin’s truck near the golf covered in mud and turf not long after the course was damaged.
