Redshirt-freshman offensive tackle Kievan Myers announced his intent to transfer Friday night via Twitter.
The Dallas native never appeared in a game for the Illini, redshirting the 2018 season and not playing in any in 2019. Myers verbally committed to Illinois back in June 2017 and had offers from Colorado, Houston, Texas Tech and others.
Myers was unlikely to appear in Illinois’ Dec. 30 Redbox Bowl game against Cal.
Illinois has three offensive linemen signed in the 2020 class — Blaise Sparks, Kevin Tyler and Phifer Griffin.
