CHAMPAIGN — The attention was mostly local his freshman season. Ke’Shawn Vaughn was named Illinois football’s Offensive Newcomer of the Year after leading the team in rushing.
Now the rest of the Big Ten Conference is starting to notice. Vaughn is listed among the top running backs in the league by preseason magazines.
“I love being mentioned as one of the best in the Big Ten,” Vaughn said.
If it goes the way he hopes, Vaughn will someday become a national name.
Ask him his long-term goal and he doesn’t hesitate.
“I would like to be one of the leading rushers in the nation,” he said.
