WHAT HAPPENED
Illinois uncorked the big plays Saturday afternoon instead of allowing them (mostly). From matching 72-yard rushing touchdowns by Reggie Corbin and Dre Brown to a 67-yard touchdown catch by Ricky Smalling.
WHAT IT MEANS
While the Illini's offensive performance was its best of the season, the strides they made defensively stand out even more. After allowing 712 yards last week at Maryland, holding Minnesota mostly in check was a win.
WHAT'S NEXT
Repeating the type of performance that led to a 24-point victory against the Gophers is now the goal.
